Blood Wedding: May 2021

Blood Wedding was a co-production between Curve and De Montfort University, starring 21 of their drama students as the actors.

This project was conceived to take place during a full lockdown, and the students never worked together in person. The entire play was filmed on phones against green screens in the students’ own houses.

Designer David Medina Aguila created a digital stage and set, into which video editor and composer Tasha Taylor Johnson put each of the individual videos, to create a virtual play.

Blood Wedding represents a period of intense creativity, in which we designed a brand new way of creating digital theatre.
